Welcome to Crowthorne Carnival 2014
The Crowthorne Carnival Committee has just begun the task of organising the 2014 Carnival. This will be the 20th Crowthorne Carnival since it began as an event to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee and it is still creating as much excitement and enthusiasm as ever. And long may the Crowthorne community get caught up in the fun.
The committee decided that, for 2014, we would give the Carnival theme a contemporary edge. ‘Strictly’ is a blatant steal of the glam and glitter of one of the most successful and watched of all recent TV reality shows, but we have also added a look back at the great days of the flamboyant films of Hollywood’s heyday in ‘Showtime’. We are sure that these references will encourage many to be equally ‘flamboyant and glitzy’ in their interpretations for the Carnival. We do hope so!
Preparing for Carnival 2014
We have a really positive outlook for carnival 2014. Fortunately we have a sound financial base, an experienced team, excellent community support, good local Authority support, and a mature Carnival Plan. What we now need is more Committee Members, contacts for trucks & lorries, stewards for the day, a post Carnival field tidy-team, sponsors (financial and in-kind) and we would love to see some more affiliated events.
